Common Questions

🚗 For Riders
DAO is a pre-booking platform. You set your price, drivers choose to accept. No surge pricing, no platform commission on your fare, and all drivers are professional independent contractors who value their craft.
You can book days or weeks in advance. We recommend booking at least 24 hours ahead for the best driver selection and a confirmed ride.
Full refund if cancelled 1 or more hours before your trip. No refund within 1 hour of your scheduled trip time.
Cash or card — your choice. Cash trips have no processing fee. Card trips include a small 5% processing fee which covers secure payment handling. Either way, there are no extra charges added to your quoted fare.
🙋 For Drivers
$100/month subscription. No other fees or commissions taken from your earnings. You keep what you earn.
For cash trips: 100% of the fare goes to you directly from the rider. For card trips: 95% of the fare — the remaining 5% covers payment processing costs.
Cash trips: immediately from the rider at the end of the trip. Card trips: processed to your bank account within 1–2 business days.
No Stripe account needed. You only need a bank account for card trip payouts. We handle all payment processing on our end.
